Overview
We're excited to welcome your practice to the Link Connected Pet platform!
Our onboarding process is designed to make implementation simple, organized, and collaborative. Rather than handing your team a checklist, you'll work with experienced members of the Link team who specialize in veterinary medicine, implementation, product training, and customer success.
As part of your partnership, your practice will receive its own branded Connected Pet app—giving your clients a seamless experience that reinforces your hospital's brand while providing access to pet profiles, reminders, Link Scout AI, veterinary connectivity, and optional Link wellness tracking. Throughout onboarding, the Link team will work with you to configure your branded app, prepare your staff, and ensure your clinic is ready for a successful launch.
Most clinics complete onboarding over a series of short meetings scheduled across a few weeks, allowing your team to prepare for a successful launch without disrupting daily operations.
By the end of onboarding, your practice will be ready to introduce Link Connected Pet to clients, access the LinkVet Healthcare Portal, and confidently incorporate connected care into everyday workflows.
Your Onboarding Journey
Step 1: Meet Your Veterinary Success Team
Your onboarding begins with our Veterinary Success Team—experienced veterinary industry professionals who will guide your clinic through every stage of implementation.
Throughout onboarding, your team will:
- Learn how the Link Connected Pet ecosystem works
- Understand the benefits for your practice and clients
- Review your onboarding timeline
- Establish launch goals
- Identify clinic champions
- Answer questions and provide implementation guidance
Your onboarding team remains available throughout implementation and after your clinic goes live.
Step 2: Complete Program & Business Onboarding
Before launch, we'll work together to complete the administrative requirements needed to activate your clinic.
Depending on your program, this may include:
- Partnership agreements
- Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), if applicable
- Data authorization and consent documentation
- Participation agreements
- Clinic enrollment forms
- Billing or purchasing information (when applicable)
- Program-specific implementation requirements
Completing these items ensures your clinic is fully authorized and ready to participate in the Link Connected Pet ecosystem.
Step 3: Configure Your Clinic Brand & App
One of the first milestones during onboarding is configuring your practice's branded Connected Pet experience.
The Link team will work with you to configure your clinic's app and verify the information pet parents will see when they download it.
This includes:
- Practice name
- Clinic logo and branding
- Address
- Phone number
- Website
- Hours of operation
- Primary contacts
- Clinic profile information
- Branded app configuration
- Clinic invitation settings
Your branded app becomes an extension of your practice, allowing pet parents to stay connected with your team while managing their pet's care from home.
Step 4: Verify Your Technology & Portal Access
If your practice uses a supported Practice Information Management System (PIMS), the Link team will verify your integration and confirm that data is flowing correctly.
We'll also prepare your clinic's access to the LinkVet Healthcare Portal, including:
- User account creation
- Permission setup
- Portal access verification
- Integration validation (where applicable)
- Initial data synchronization
- Configuration review
This ensures your team is ready to begin using the portal as soon as eligible patients enroll.
Step 5: Receive Your Training
Your clinic will participate in guided training sessions covering both the Link Connected Pet app and the LinkVet Healthcare Portal.
Training is recommended for:
- Veterinarians
- Veterinary technicians
- Client Service Representatives
- Practice managers
- Hospital administrators
Topics include:
- Understanding the Link ecosystem
- Using the LinkVet Healthcare Portal
- Introducing Link to pet parents
- Identifying ideal patient opportunities
- Clinic workflows and best practices
- Frequently asked questions
- Knowing when to refer clients to Link Customer Care
Our goal is to ensure every team member feels comfortable discussing Link with clients.
Step 6: Experience Your Clinic’s App
Before launch, we encourage every team member to download your clinic's branded Connected Pet app and create a pet profile.
Using your own app helps staff:
- Experience the platform exactly as clients will
- Become familiar with navigation and features
- Practice introducing the app during appointments
- Answer common client questions with confidence
- Understand how pet parents will connect with your practice
If your clinic also offers Link devices, staff can see how the Add Link experience works and understand how activity and sleep insights become available after a device is added.
Hands-on experience builds confidence and helps create more natural conversations with pet parents.
Step 7: Prepare Your Launch Materials
Before launch, the Link team will provide your clinic with the materials needed to introduce Link Connected Pet to pet parents.
Depending on your program, these may include:
- Clinic-branded marketing assets
- Digital logos and graphics
- QR codes for app downloads
- Counter displays
- Posters and window signage
- Exam room materials
- Staff talking points
- Frequently asked questions
- Social media graphics
- Email templates
- Website content
- Launch announcements
Together, these resources help create a consistent client experience and encourage app adoption throughout your practice.
Step 8: Launch
When your clinic launches, pet parents will be invited to download your clinic's branded app, creating a direct digital connection between your practice and your clients.
From there, clients can:
- Manage their pet profiles
- Receive reminders
- Access Link Scout AI
- Stay connected with your clinic
- Add a Link device whenever they're ready to unlock activity and sleep tracking
This app-first approach keeps your practice at the center of the connected care experience while making it easy for pet parents to engage with their pet's health every day.
Some of the best opportunities include:
- New puppy and visits
- Annual wellness exams
- Senior pet appointments
- Chronic disease management visits
- Weight management consultations
- Pain management discussions
- Post-surgical discharge appointments
- Preventive care visits
Remember, you don't need to explain every feature during every conversation.
A simple introduction to the app is often enough to help pet parents get started, with the Link device available as an optional enhancement when appropriate.
Ongoing Success After Launch
Launching your clinic is only the beginning.
After go-live, the Link team continues to support your practice with:
- Product guidance
- Refresher training
- Educational resources
- Best practice recommendations
- Marketing support
- Performance reviews

- Ongoing customer success meetings
Our goal is to help your clinic achieve long-term success while continuing to strengthen relationships with pet parents.
