The Link Connected Pet app is the primary way to use and manage your Link account, pet information, and available Link features.
Depending on your account and whether you have a Link device, the app can provide access to different features and information.
Before You Get Started
You will need:
- A compatible smartphone
- The Link Connected Pet app or clinic-branded app
- An email address you can access
- Your pet's information
- A Link device can be added at any time if you plan to use device-dependent features
If you received an invitation from a participating veterinary clinic, use the invitation and instructions provided by the clinic to connect with their Link experience.
Download the Link App
Download the Link Connected Pet app from the App Store or Google Play for your smartphone.
If you are unsure which app to use, see Choosing and Downloading the Right Link App.
Create or Sign In to Your Link Account
Open the Link app and follow the instructions to:
- Create a Link account for first time users, or
- Sign in to an existing account for previous or existing users
Use an email address you can access because Link may use it for account-related communications, password recovery, order information, customer support, and other important account messages.
If you already have a Link account, sign in to that account rather than creating a second account.
Create Your Pet's Profile
After signing in, follow the app's instructions to create your pet's profile.
You will be asked for information such as:
- Pet name
- Photo
- Species
- Breed
- Age or birth date
- Weight
For more information, see Creating and Managing Your Pet Profile.
If You Have a Link Device
If you purchased a Link device, you will set it up through the Link app.
Before starting:
- Charge the device.
- Keep it near your phone.
- Make sure your phone has an internet connection.
- Confirm that you have selected the correct pet.
- Allow any phone permissions requested by the app.
Follow the setup instructions shown in the app.
For more information, see Setting Up Your Link Device.
If You Do Not Have a Link Device
You can still use the Link app without a physical Link device.
Depending on your account and current Link features, you may be able to:
- Manage your pet profile
- Use available pet care reminders
- Use Link Scout AI
- Connect with participating veterinary services
- Use other app features that do not require device-generated information
Device-dependent information such as location, activity, sleep, and device status requires a connected Link device.
See Using Link Without a Link Device for more information.
If Your Veterinary Clinic Invited You
If your veterinarian sent you an invitation to connect with their Link experience:
- Open the invitation.
- Use the included links to download their clinic-branded app.
- Sign in or create your Link account as directed.
- Confirm the correct pet.
- Complete the connection process on the Care Screen.
- If you choose to purchase Link, use the purchase option provided through the clinic invitation.
Your veterinary clinic does not need to activate your physical Link device. The device is shipped directly to you and set up at home.
Keep Your App Updated
Using the current version of the Link app can help ensure you have access to the latest available features and fixes.
If you experience a problem:
- Check for an available app update.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Restart your phone if needed.
- Try the action again.
If You Cannot Log In
If you know your account email but cannot remember your password, use the password recovery option provided on the Link sign-in screen.
Check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive the reset email.
If you are unsure which email address is associated with your account, do not create another account. Contact Link support for assistance.
See I Can't Log In to My Link Account for more information.
If the App Is Not Working Correctly
For problems such as crashing, freezing, missing information, or setup issues, use the troubleshooting article that matches the problem or contact Link Customer Care support.
When contacting support, provide the email address associated with your Link account and a description of the problem.
Never send your password or full payment card number.
The Key Takeaway
The Link app is the starting point for managing your Link account and pet.
Create or sign in to your account, add your pet, and follow the app's instructions for any Link device or features you use. If you already have a Link account, use that account rather than creating a new one.
